The intention of this blog is to offer resources, insights, and a place for discussion on the history of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, the largest administrative unit in the People’s Republic of China today. My focus is primarily on the early period of the PRC, when the transfer of power between the Guomindang and the Chinese Communist Party in Xinjiang took place, although I do occasionally post on other periods and topics.
If readers have additional input or disagree with the content of my posts, I invite feedback through the comments system.
I am a graduate student in Washington, DC, studying Chinese history and contemporary politics. My research largely revolves around China’s borderlands and the confluence of domestic and foreign policy.
I was wondering if you’d like to receive a review copy of my book, Why China Will Never Rule the World, for consideration for mention or what have you in one of your blogs. It, of course, mentions Xinjiang, though not very often. Still, you might find it interesting. You can read a free excerpt on my website. Thanks, Troy
